Drawing with Thread





These are small pieces, none over 10" in any direction. Machine embroidery on muslin, mounted on gesso board with matte medium. Green one has an overlay of silk organza, also attached with matte medium. I like the effect of the loose threads, a foil to the precise lines of the drawing.

  2. I think that the loose strings look very much like contour drawing. It always looks a little messey. I like it.

  4. These thread drawings are wonderful. I too, have been experimenting with this. Fabric art is just fantastic! Who could have known when our mothers taught us to use the sewing machine, that this was our future! Bravo!
